Greetings one and all!I hope and pray all is well with all of you.
Earlier today I listened to a lesson on a campus ministry website. It was the concluding lesson during a campus ministry workshop held during the summer time.
The lesson focused on Elijah and Elisha. There were several things the speakers talked about I noticed and wanted to pass along .
First, they focused on our need to be good followers before we can be trusted to be good leaders. That has to do with our own humility.
Second, they said we need to find co-workers with whom we can work together, and to whom we can pass the work on to. They said all to often we find someone or a group to help them in ministry and just leave the work to them. They stressed working alongside others, and eventually pass the work on to them.
Third, make sure you aren’t doing too much when you take on a ministry role. They talked about when Elijah came up to Elisha and asked him (Elisha) to be his (Elijah’s) attendant. At the time Elisha was plowing with a yoke of oxen. When Elisha made his decision, he slaughtered his oxen, cooked them, and served the food to others. Then he went with Elijah.
Those are the only things I recall at present. I thought the speakers did excellent.
Comments, thoughts, questions, etc are always welcomed and encouraged.
God bless you all. Grace and Peace.
