Greetings everyone! The line above in the title line is part of a worship song called Worthy Is The Lamb. I remember learning this song during my two years as a student at Sunset International Bible Institute. This song is POWERFUL! So powerful it gives me chills up and down my spine just thinking about it. The song talks about Jesus, His life, death, and resurrection. The whole song shows Jesus is the Worthy Lamb!
The most powerful part of the song to me is the phrase “the darling of heaven crucified, worthy is the Lamb!”. The Darling of heaven! What a phrase! Jesus was and is darling to God. Jesus is and should be darling to us. I am extremely sure this song is even more impacting to those who are parents, thinking about their own darling children. No parent on the face of this earth would even think about giving even one of their own children to die for any other person. Even if that other person were a close personal friend, much less someone they didn’t even know.
I think of my parents, grandparents, siblings and siblings-in-law, nephew, nieces, aunts, uncles, and all my extended family; they are all darling to me. I wouldn’t give up any of them for anyone else either.
Yet God gave up His Darling to save those who were His enemies. How powerful is that?!
